I am the oldest of four children, and could not be more proud of each of my siblings and their amazing, yet very different, talents. Despite our distance, both in age and in location, I think of them every day, always with a smile . . .
I have traveled to over 42 of the 50 states, and I'm eager to visit the last 8 (hint, hint) . . .
I am a mutt, having lived in several different places growing up. I have no idea "where I'm from," but I feel like Nashville, Tennessee is "home" despite having spent very little time there, and rarely going back . . .
I have NO idea what my natural hair color is anymore . . .
I used to sing classical opera, but always wanted to be a country music star . . .
I have an uncanny talent for picking top 10 country songs. I can listen to a new album, and tell you which track will be the band's next (successful) release. I wish I could market this skill . . .
I am a Wake Forest University graduate (Go Deacs!) but have no true loyalty to any one college or university during football season. I have no trouble picking a team and pulling for them like they're my own . . .
I tear up when I hear the national anthem at sporting events . . . almost always . . . unless it's a particularly bad rendition. I cry at commercials too - especially during Christmas . . . or that SPCA commercial with Sarah Maclachlan . . . bah, it gets me every time . . .
I'm a city girl who married a country boy, and now I know that there are 28 species of waterfowl in North America, and I can name more than half of them. Don't believe me - ask, I dare you . . .
I got married on tax day, April 15, because it wasn't football season . . . or soccer season . . . or duck hunting season . . .
I married my best friend, and I love him . . . LOTS . . . especially once duck season is over. ;-)
Our puppy dog, Brant, is from Montana. He flew a long way, all alone, to meet us for the first time . . .
My favorite time of day is twilight, when the sky is that really awesome cobalt/purple color . . .
Despite fighting it for years, I have to finally come clean: I love monogrammed canvas bags, my CindaB luggage, Garden & Gun magazine, my Sperry Topsiders, pearls with t-shirts and everything else quintessentially "southern" and preppy . . .
And, last, but certainly not least . . .
Every day that passes I'm accused of becoming more like my mother . . . and, I'm seriously okay with that. She's a pretty awesome woman! :-)
